Living Room: Mother’s Meditation and Conversation 2020-21 Ten Month Cohort

For mothers of all ages and stages
This year’s focus: RAIN Meditation–Recognizing, Allowing, Investigating and Nurturing
Do you have feelings you want to work on changing/expressing/learning how to be with? We will be focusing our meditations this coming year on the process of recognizing what is happening inside in as nonjudgmental a way as possible. From there, RAIN meditation encourages internally allowing the feelings (rather than fighting them or wishing they weren’t there). Then, investigating them to better understand how they show up in your body. And finally, nurturing yourself as you immerse. Feel the nurturance and discover what it can be like to be with yourself. Really.

Dates: 9/25, 10/16, 11/13, 12/11, 01/08, 02/19, 03/12, 04/16, 05/21, 06/18
Meeting Time: Fridays, 3-5:30pm, Virtual (Zoom)

Description: Our Living Room 10 month cohort meets monthly on a Friday from 3-5:30pm virtually. We begin with a 15-20 minute grounding meditation, practicing different mindfulness based meditation techniques. This year, our group will focus on developing skills in RAIN: recognizing one’s feelings, practicing making space and allowing them to be there, investigating them and developing self-nurturance. Each group incorporates time for participants to check in. This is a support group around mothering while realizing your own needs for time, space and self-nurturance.
Participants will:

  • Join in ten monthly sessions held between September 2020 and June 2021.
  • Be part of a group email list serve for 2020-21.
  • Optional participation in a group text chat.
  • Have priority access to upcoming Living Room Retreats and gatherings (including online workshops).
  • Be a part of an amazing support community with a diverse group of women.
